Saw an elderly man leaving the store yesterday... He had flowers in his hand, most likely for his wife. It melted my heart. Got ready to check out... We were greeted with a smile, a nice small conversation, and a lovely goodbye.

Why can't we all be like that in some way?

The average person is always angry, mad, or has an attitude. Why?

Cannot stand the speeders, the cutters, and the impatient.(Dang Freeway!)

Hello World

So as I sit here and write, some of you may be a little skeptical about this. I lived such an up and down life. Always keeps me thinking that I’m sick. In more ways than even I know.

I wish I told a whole story in it’s full. I leave such a blank on your faces; sometimes because I’m blank. You don’t give up or stop when you’re blank. Some of the most down to earth or magically inclined writing and skills come from blanks.

Everyone wants to make a difference, I know I do. Maybe if we’d put our heads together for once, something will happen. Maybe something historical! Grab your pencils and pens to jot down the nearest thought on your mind and see what comes of it. You only know yourself, better than anyone else around you. Telling you my dreams and goals makes them that much more important to accomplish.

I hope you’re a good listener because I can chat all night about it. Forget today and start fresh tomorrow with an over excited mind to fill your day with non stop smiles. Release your past, tell the nearest soul you’re present, and look forward to a brighter future my friend.

I can still feel the bass kicking my heart into shape. The P.A system kept their eyes attached. We came a long way. We touched glory just enough to keep us going. We held bonds that no one could break. We laughed, we cried, we grew up.

I still feel the magic made in close quarters. Secrets kept tucked away until it was show-time. I’ll never forget. I’ll still keep my dream, you can have yours back. What a run we had. Keep that microphone close for a chorus they’ll always remember son. We were kids with big dreams. One*day we’d make it. Midnight jam sessions for a next weeks gig. Show after show, the road soon got old. Don’t you miss it? Keep that beat alive, so the bass can be felt for miles. The chords of beat up guitars are screaming with the sound of his voice. Shine that spotlight on all 5 of these guys because it’s starting to go dim. It was never “goodbye”; it was “see you later”. Maybe that later is today.

What ever happened to that girl in the red shirt who anticipated the worst in life and never had hope so she drank her dreams to the bottom of a bottle. She was never seen again. She was last seen holding a flower to her heart for a better shot at something new. I still think of the sweat, blood, and time put into it. I want to hear them sing back. The smaller the audience the more souls you touch.

You think you know...

Things I want to accomplish in 2009
Just a typical intro to an ordinary blog from a boring old fellow.
Right now we live in a world with high expectations; flaunting the things we can’t afford and making wishes and dreams come true no matter what price we pay in the end. As long as we can show it off, our work is done. People don’t care about the work you put into things, the sweat and the head-aches felt, the long hours worked, the overtime, and the sleep lost; all that matters now is the final product. People want to see what you have to offer and what you have to show or what you buy ($100jeans/$50shirts/$120shoes).

A man sits stress free on his very comfy couch with no worries because he works a decent 9 to 5 job, gets paid enough to pay the bills and feed his family; puts a good roof over their heads and drives a decent car that gets him from point A to point B. Not into the latest fashion or aware of the latest trends of designers, but buys decent clothes and provides for his family like one should; but some see big problems from the beginning.

See some would rather live the half stress free life sitting on their leather recliner working about 50-60hours a week not just to pay the bills but to pay for wants, dreams and needs. Wanting to drive the coolest or the fastest car with a great big spacious place to live in. Sometimes not being able to pay all the bills and get the needs that one has out of the way occurs, but wishes and desires are well taken care of. With compliments never ending about one’s clothing and style and great smile from cheek to cheek.

A smile can go a long way, a smile can be a cover-up to problems deeper than the eye can see, a smile can be the final piece of the puzzle to a completed problem out of the way, a smile can show/hide happiness inside, a smile can show pride in earning every bit of what you have, a smile can be because you’ve succeeded in showing off your latest fashion or trends. Some can smile but hurt inside; some can smile and stand tall with pride, some can smile just because they don’t want to hurt or cry anymore.

Do you ever care to ask a person how they are and really mean it or how things have been going in their life? Or do you look towards the end and focus on the final product and look past what really needs to be seen in them and if it is then you may have lost all communication in moving forward and some feelings may never be figured out.

It’s no ones fault but the way we live now is so looked upon by others as either rich or poor. Almost as bluntly as being just black or white. Always criticizing by the look of an eye, guessing at so many things in a stranger’s life when you haven’t spoken a word to each other in your entire life.

If you have goals in your life for 2009 and maybe you want to actual fulfill 1 of those goals, try adding this to your list.
To becoming a better friend, person, or listener

Don’t judge a book by its cover, we’ve been saying that phrase for years but some still do.
