Why do we have to be the ones scared to death to walk down the street after dark? Why do we have to be the nice people who don’t carry around protection but in the end the one prepared is the one killing the innocent. It becomes a “what if” scenario. Every time we turn on that television it becomes our city blasted all over the world for everyone to see. It doesn’t have to be like that. Why not invest in more security cameras, better lighting for the night time, or have more patrol cars in every area. There is no worst area than the next. Violence and Murderers are at an all time high right now. People blame the economy but it’s been happening right in front of our faces for years! I think a lot of people just feel they have to accept how things are and sit with their heads down trying not to be seen and picked next. It’s sad. Now you can’t even wear a certain color in the wrong area, you can’t look at a person without being confronted, and you can’t ever let your guard down when you’re away from your home or car. No one takes this seriously until it becomes personal or it happens to them.
